The Expo

The Greenheart Resonancia team linked up this campaign with the Congress about  World Heritage, Tourism and Climate Change that was organized by the Council of Ibiza Town through its Excellence Plan, together with UNESCO and the WTO (World Tourism Organization), from the 21st to the 24th of May, 2008.  19th to 25th of May became Climate Change Week, with themed talks and film evenings, featuring an exhibition of all the artwork that the school children produced as "Guardians of the Planet".

E_01.jpg"Guardians of the Planet" -  This digital, interactive, audiovisual exhibition on 8 plasma screens was open to the public all week in the new Tourism Office in Vara de Rey, 1.

Visitors could also use the touch-screens to access information about climate change and what to do about it, and a collection of short films produced by activists from the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) who were present for the opening party, by Annie Lennard, and by the BBC.

Over the first three mornings of the week, groups of school children were able to see their own work on show, alongside a short film detailing some of the highlights of their visits to Casita Verde, and pictures from around the world kindly provided by the Kids Call initiative of the World Future Council

A video-message from Stefan Schurig, the Director of Climate and Energy of the World Future Council, thanked them for their commitment and their letters and drawings, and encouraged them to continue with their work as Guardians of the Planet.

The Greenheart Resonancia team also presented the eco-edutainment campaign at the International Congress to attendees, with great feedback and interest from the public.

E_congress.jpgThe outcomes of this Congress will provide a working document for further discussion at such events, and we will provide them on this site as they come out.

We will also follow the development of the Kids Call campaign, to see where all the pictures and messages go to and what the world's political leaders have to say about them!
